Hello to families in the making and families that have been formed for years! My name is Samantha. I am the owner of Doula Due with You. I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula. I am also a Child Birth Educator. I serve Southeast/Metro Detroit, Michigan. My journey began in 2024 when I started my training through DONA International and Lamaze International Child Birth Education. I was called to doula work due to the deep empathy and compassion I have felt for new families navigating this journey. Especially Mothers, that I have seen hold the weight of uncertainty through pregnancy, birth and parenthood, all to themselves. I believe every birther, parent, and caretaker deserves access to knowledge and support during this transformative time in one’s life. This scared journey should be molded with love, support, evidence and compassion. Every persons path through parenthood is different and I am here to help guide you to whichever route best aligns with you.
I believe the journey of entering parenthood and thriving throughout is best nourished by building a community of support. I will guide your family towards the support that best meets your beliefs and values. The guidance offered will be evidence supported, respectful and judgement free. Doula support is the foundation of creating a well rounded and evidence based surrounding for your family. A doula does not replace the partner. I will support you and your partner by instilling confidence in them to support you and baby how your family chooses. I will guide the partner to facilitate communication between you and the birth team. I will be the coach and cheerleader for you and your birth partner to work together, not to overstep. The scope of practice to be followed as a doula allows me to bring evidence based information to you to form your own decisions in your journey. Any topics outside of my scope of practice will be referred to my extensive and personalized list of professionals. Doula support can take away the hours of endless searching online for the “best” care or advice!
When I am not attending a birth, providing care or teaching a class, I’m busy continuing my education in all things pregnancy, birth and newborn care. Aside from perinatal work, I am most likely outdoors with my husband and corgi, Elvis. In the colder months you can find me fine tuning my culinary skills in the kitchen with my husband. And as always, spending time with our family, learning and creating memories.
